4 – Tilapia Filets, Thawed
Canola Oil for Frying
blackened Seasoning Spice
Bag of Fresh Baby Spinach Leaves
No Salt Butter Can of Black Beans
Sprinkle Tilapia on both sides heavily with Blackened seasoned spice. Set aside. Heat skillet with a couple tbsps of Canola oil to medium-high heat. When oil is hot, add filets and cook 3 minutes per side. Move fish to one side of skillet. Reduce heat to medium, drain and rinse black beans. Pour black beans in skillet to heat (few minutes), top all with spinach leaves and 2 tbsps of Butter. Put a lid on skillet and turn to Low Heat. When spinach has wilted, place spinach on serving plate, then fish filets and top with black beans.
Patty’s Blackening Spice (no sugar) 4 tbsp Kosher Salt
5 tbsp Paprika
1 tbsp Dried Thyme
1 tbsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 tsp Ground White Pepper
Mix all spices together & store in shaker containers. Great spice for Fish, Chicken or Pork.
