NWA Volunteers Working to Make Joplin Prom Unforgettable

May 22, 2011 is a day Joplin High School students will never forget. Their school was one of hundreds of structures destroyed by last year's deadly tornado. However, thanks to Hollywood and volunteers, they will have an unforgettable prom.

This includes Janessa Bailey, a local event planner from Fayetteville, who is part of the ambush team. She is donating her time to plan a fairytale prom themed "Dreams do Come True."

"A lot of these kids who have been affected, whether they lost their home or parents lost their jobs, where money maybe just can't be prioritized for extra things like the prom this year," said Bailey.

They are collecting prom dresses, accessories and shoes. The Joplin seniors will have a free prom shopping day on March 10th.

There will also have food, boutineers, corsage, and other things donated to them.

There prom will be in three rooms, each with a different theme. One room will have a DJ and another a local band from Fort Smith.
