Civic leaders of one River Valley community welcome a new surgery clinic.
Tuesday morning, Summit Medical Center held an open house and ribbon cutting for its new surgery clinic. The facility, which has six exam rooms and a procedure room, will house doctors specializing in Bariatric, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Podiatry and Gastroenterology.
The remodeled clinic also played a large part in the Van Buren hospital’s efforts to become a level three trauma center.
“Our staff is better trained to handle the trauma and if it’s something that requires surgery care, we’re equipped to transfer those patients if we need to do so and if it’s something we can take care of here locally, we will,” explained Joe S. Padilla, Jr., M.D.
Saint Mary’s Regional Hospital in Russellville and Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville are level three trauma centers. Level 3 trauma centers are known for providing resources for emergency resuscitation, surgery and intensive care of most trauma patients.
The clinic is located on the hospital campus at 2010 Chestnut, Suite A.
