A 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being hit by a truck while riding his bicycle to school Monday morning in Springdale.
It happened at the north entrance of Brookhaven Apartments on Powell Street.
Police say the driver of the white pick-up truck who hit the boy was a 13-year-old boy.
The mother of the 13-year-old driver, Grasiela Martinez, was cited for allowing him to drive.
The 7-year-old was taken to Northwest Medical Center by the Springdale Fire Department where he was treated and released.
Initially it was reported that the victim was a 10-year-old girl, but police later released more information on the accident.
