Bentonville and Rogers started the day tied with Heritage and Har-Ber as the leaders in the 7A-West baseball race, as all 3 were 2 and 0.

The Tigers and Mounties played a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in Bentonville, and game 1 was a thriller, won by Bentonville off of a walk-off home run from junior second baseman Junior Martinez. The Tigers took game 1, 5-4.

Game 2 started with with fireworks, as in the bottom of the 1st inning, Bentonville’s Hunter Boydston kicked off the scoring by hitting a base-clearing, 3 RBI double. In the top of the 2nd, Rogers not only answered, but took the lead, scoring 3 runs off of infield errors, and Zack Sample’s liner to the left-center gap reached the wall, scoring 2 more. The Mounties led 5-3 after the top of the 2nd, but Bentonville came back, and won game 2 decidedly, 10-5.
