Three teenage girls riding a 4-wheeler were injured when they hit a tree in Rogers Friday evening.

Capt. Matt Miller with the Rogers Fire Department says the girls, ranging in age 16 to 17, were not wearing helmets when they crashed into a tree on Haynes Rd.

Capt. Miller says one girl had to be airlifted to a Springfield, Mo. hospital. He says she has facial injuries and may have a broken jaw. The other two girls were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Rogers; one with a broken arm and the other with a possible concussion.

Capt. Miller says the accident happened in a rural area near Beaver Lake around 9 p.m. He is not sure if the girls lost control before hitting the tree.

The Rogers Fire Department was called to assist the Beaver Lake Volunteer Fire Department with the accident.
