After a summer like weekend with record-breaking heat in Fayetteville and Fort Smith seeing 90 degrees for the first time this year, our attention turns to the possibility of spring-like storms on Tuesday.
Overall, we are not expecting a widespread severe weather event with this system. Instability will be enough to support severe storms but another key ingredient, wind shear, will be rather low. The threat with storms on Tuesday will be large hail and perhaps isolated gusty winds. The tornado threat with this system is very low.
This cut off low will take its time making it through the area so a few thunderstorms will also be possible on Wednesday.
We are already tracking another system that will affect the area on Easter weekend with the possibility of thunderstorms. More on that system as we get closer.
