Tuesday afternoon a Washington County jury found a man guilty of first-degree battery in the beating a Fayetteville police officer. Hiram Graham’s second trial began Monday.
The prosecuting attorney's office says a judge sentenced Graham to 25 years in prison.
He was first tried in October on an attempted capital murder charge, but that trial ended in a hung jury.
Graham beat Officer Tiffney Lindley with her own baton inside the IHOP on Wedington Drive on Feb. 23, 2011. Officers had been called to the restaurant on a report of a customer who appeared drunk and had thrown up under a table.
Lindley suffered severe cuts on her head and chin, requiring stitches and staples.
