Cabbies prowl along Dickson Street in Fayetteville. It’s the perfect place to find customers after a night of partying who need a ride home.   Now there’s a new company that has joined the late night fray.

However this company is going the extra-mile, literally, thanks to its green technology.  It’s a new company designed to save you a big hassle, and save the planet at the very same time.

Green Cab Company started rolling out cabs on New Year’s Eve. That night is like the Super Bowl in the taxi business.

Co-Owner Brad Audrain says Green Cab Company is a hybrid of sorts.

“When we were envisioning a hybrid cab company eco-friendly taxi service with all hybrid vehicles it seemed to fit in with the vibe in Fayetteville,’’ said Brad.

The Green Cab Co. is starting small with four new Toyota Hybrid vehicles.  Business has been good so far, and each party night on Dickson Street it gets even better.

They’re located right behind George’s Majestic Lounge.  That’s Ground Zero for wobbly people who need a cab immediately.

“It is important. That was kind of the idea. Some of the other cab companies are located north of Fayetteville. We wanted to have something close where people could walk up on a football weekend and wait a few minutes to get a cab,” said Brad.

That’s a lot better than waiting a few minutes to be booked and get your mug shot taken.  While the Green Cab Company specializes in Dickson Street runs, they’ll go anywhere in the Northwest Arkansas area  for a very competitive price.

Audrain says the cars are brand new and cost effective.  The cars are always clean and there’s no smoking in the vehicles.
