If you're looking to monkey around, head to Gentry and enjoy the Wild Wilderness Drive-Thru Safari. It's like you've dropped into to an African Safari, but it's cozy enough to still feels like Arkansas.
Some new additions this year include a baby monkey and a baby Baboon named Haylee as well as some new baby bears. They’re also hoping to have some more additions soon.
The safari features tons of different animals. There are baby kangaroos in the petting zoo and even some fun Razorback pigs.
Kady Ryan has been working with the animals for five years. She's got plans to attend vet school at Oklahoma State, but until then she’s got the coolest part-time job around.
Kady is comfortable being around almost all of the animals, but she knows not everybody knows what to expect when they arrive.
She says the experience is definitely worth it.
“You can drive through and see the bigger animals. We have baby animals in a petting zoo and monkeys that many people don't get to do. It's just an experience coming out here.’’
The most important rule is: STAY IN THE CAR! Keeping your family and the animals safe is the top priority.
Kady is only about five feet tall, but when she’s around the animals she’s walking tall, and always knows her place. She says working at the Safari is hard work, but very rewarding.
Many of her high school friends are flipping burgers or working at the factory. Kady feels blessed to have a part-time job with all-world animal training.
