Suspects in Machete Attack Arrested in Florida
Christopher Cage and Emily Tyler
Two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery at Advantage One Auto Insurance in Bentonville have been arrested in Polk County, Fla., according to police.
Christopher T. Cage, 22, and Emily A. Tyler, 23, both of Rogers, were arrested without incident at the home of a relative, according to Bentonville Police Chief Jon Simpson.
They will be held in the Polk County Jail until they are extradited to Arkansas.
Two young girls, ages 1 and 3, were with the suspects at the time of their arrest. The children were left in the custody of Florida’s Department of Children and Families, who will determine where they will be placed, according to Chief Simpson.
On Friday, police say a man walked into the business at the 2300 block of S.E. 28th Street about 5:30 p.m. and demanded money from the employee. After a confrontation, the suspect threw the machete, causing minor injuries to the man’s face and a wrist.
Investigators later identified Cage and Tyler as suspects.
Cage is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery and battery. Tyler was wanted for charges of accomplice to aggravated robbery and battery, as well as endangering the welfare of a minor.
