Girlfriend Being Questioned in Fort Smith Stabbing

A woman is being questioned in the stabbing of her boyfriend at the Coleman Courtyard apartments in Fort Smith around 7:25 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Dispatchers say there was a report of a person on the ground bleeding after getting into a fight at 1607 S. Fresno St.

Eyewitnesses told investigators the couple left the scene together. The couple was found at a Fort Smith hospital around 8 p.m., according to police. “At this point it doesn’t look life threatening,” said Sgt. Brian Rice.

Neighbors tell 5NEWS they heard an argument in a downstairs apartment and saw a pile of hair on the ground where a scuffle took place. “It possibly could be a domestic issue,” said Sgt. Rice.

The woman has not been arrested. The stabbing is still under investigation.
