Fort Smith Police are trying to identify a man accused of taking money out of a Walmart Neighborhood Market customer’s account.

On Friday afternoon, police say a customer reported he made a purchase at the store but failed to complete the transaction at the “self-checkout” stand. The customer later reviewed his bank account activity and found that someone had gone to the terminal after him and taken $100 cash from his account.

Police are trying to identify the man who is seen on surveillance cameras using the same checkout terminal. He’s believed to be between 20-30 years old. The suspect may be driving a small dark truck.

If you recognize the suspect, call the River Valley Crime Stoppers tip line at (479) 78-CRIME. You will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
