"Mom, I'm Bored!"
If you have kids there's a pretty good chance you've already heard that this summer. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the energy of kids, but there are some great resources for you. One of them is social networking site, Pinterest.com
We found a few "Pins" from the site that are great for summer fun.
The first pin we found was basically instructions for a giant outdoor waterbed. Although in the actual like it's called a "Giant Squishy Sensory Bag". This is an amazing item to kids and even some adults who are kids at heart.
Here's how to make it:
Get Clear plastic sheeting (any size), duct tape, and food coloring.
Just tape up the sides into a bladder then fill it up with a water hose. You can get the sheeting from Home Depot's paint section in the aisle with all the tarps. You can get a 2-roll pack, but you should only need a 250 sq. foot roll.
To make the bed just fold it and tap the three sides together to form a 125 sq foot bag.
A 125 sq. foot bag is big enough for three people, but this can always be expanded to a 250 sq. foo tbag with more sheets and tape on all four sides.
Our next pin was very simple its very simple. All you need are jolly ranchers, lollipop sticks, and parchment paper. Just place the jolly ranchers and lollipop sticks on the parchment paper on a baking sheet. Then place it in the oven at 200 degrees for 5 minutes. Then take them out and once they've cooled you've got your very own jolly rancher suckers. They're cheap easy to make, and let kids have a fun, summer project to do.
Our final pin was everything Popsicle. Summer is definitely a time kids are going to the freezer for popsicle treats. You can make some great popsicle treats with this pin. There's even a few recipes for adult popsicle recipes.
