One of the most popular stops for anglers and hunters is coming to Arkansas’ capitol city.

Bass Pro Shops is coming to southwest Little Rock.

Bass Prof made the announcement Friday. The store will be located near the interstate, taking up 30 acres.

And it’s won’t be the only attraction there.

A town center will join it, along with hotels, boutiques and restaurants. The new commercial development means good news for job seekers.

“Bass Pro will employ about 250 people,” said developer Tommy Hodges, president of Otter Creek Land Company. “We’ve calculated that when we’re half through, we’ll have about 900 jobs created here, and I think that’ll happen in the next five years.”

Hodges says they have not yet signed formal construction contracts.

The future Bass Pro store is expected to include a 12-lane bowling alley. An outlet is planned for the location, but is about a year behind the Bass Pro construction.
