Fayetteville’s Adventure Camp Puts New Twist on Old Tradition
Summer Camp has turned into an outdoor adventure for hundreds of kids in Fayetteville.
It’s a combo special of everything under the sun that can make a kid sweat and smile.
Camp Director Julia Roe says it’s a blast for the kids.
“We’re out at Lake Fayetteville doing the Outdoor Adventure Camp,” she said. “It’s an all-inclusive, outdoor-related…activities camp. We do mountain biking, kayaking, disc golf, hiking, geocaching. Pretty much anything you can think of while you’re outside and playing.”
The Outdoor Adventure has been going for about three years now, and there are two more chances to get your kids off the couch and out to the lake.
Roe says it’s the perfect way to get your kids fired up, “The whole purpose is to get kids out here and be active. Fayetteville is a beautiful place to play and be involved. We’re starting with the kids and hopefully it’ll rub off on the parents,” she said.
Camps start weekly at 9 a.m. and end at noon. Rose said the camps are a half day of fun that will hopefully turn into a lifetime of good healthy habits for kids.
