You could describe Yani Tseng as the “Tiger Woods” of ladies golf.

There’s no denying, Yani Tseng is the best player on the LPGA Tour.  Ever since Annika Sorenstam retired, Yani has been the cream of the LPGA crop.

When Yani was asked about her ascent to the top she responded that it’s a difficult spot to maintain.

“I became number one last year and I was not ready for it for a couple of months. But after that I kind of got used to it. I started to talk to more people and the media and people started to recognize me,” said Tseng.

With her ranking comes high standards, to which Yani sells herself short.  She says, she’s not playing great this year. Even though she’s already ranked #1 and is the back-to-back champion of the Walmart LPGA tournament.

“This year I’ve been putting too much pressure on myself to stay there. One of my goals this year is to smile more and enjoy every tournament,” said Tseng.

Yany says when the putts aren’t dropping it can be hard to smile though.

“Last month I tried to smile. But when you make double it’s hard to smile. Just learn as you go. I’m learning.”

Even the best player in the golfing world is still trying to get better.

The field better watch out for Yani during the LPGA Tournament, she’s the two-time defending champion, and she’s due for another win.
