Cody James Malone, 25, of Lowell, was arrested on two counts of sexual indecency with a minor Wednesday by Springdale authorities.

Earlier in the month, Springdale police were notified that Malone allegedly sent a text message containing an inappropriate picture to a 14-year-old girl. On June 26, the teen claimed Malone asked to meet her and have sex, Lt. Kevin Lewis with Springdale Police said.

An undercover officer acted as the teen and corresponded with Malone, according to a news release from the department.

Lt. Lewis says the officer told Malone the minor was actually 13 instead of 14 years old, but Malone stated he did not care and wished to have sex with the teen anyway.

The undercover officer arranged a meeting with Malone on Wednesday and he was arrested.

Investigators believe Malone may have contacted other victims. Anyone with any information about Malone or who may have been involved in a similar incident is encouraged to contact Sgt. Motsinger or Detective Williams at (479) 750-8139.
