A Hatfield man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he arranged a meeting for sex with a teenager he met in an online chat room, according to police.
Van Buren Police arrested Mark Howard Mink, 59, for internet stalking of a child, according to Det. Jonathan Wear.
An investigator with the police department portrayed a 14-year-old girl online and arranged a meeting at an undisclosed location with Mink. He was immediately arrested when he arrived at the location around 2 p.m.
“A little creepy, you could tell that there was something about him,” said Angel Craig, an eyewitness. “As he exited the police officers were waiting on him out here,” she said.
Police found a cooler with iced down wine coolers that he had bought for the teen.
“If they’re driving two hours to come to our small town then they’ll drive anywhere,” said Craig.
Mink was booked into the Crawford County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
