Fire Sparks Near Fort Smith Buddhist Temple

Fort Smith Firefighters are investigating  after a fire sparked at a building near the Buddhist Temple in the city's northside.

The fire has now been contained.

Firefighters say the fire sparked around 9 p.m. Tuesday night in a building behind the temple located at the intersection of Mussett and Irving.

Fort Smith Police say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

OG&E Crews responded to the scene to clear an electrical line damaged in the fire, so firefighters can examine the building to work to determine the cause.
