While you may not think there's a lot of trouble that kids can find in Prairie Grove, but you'd be wrong.

A building on 120 Mock Street is the foundation, but their mission is helping at-risk teens, make better decisions.

For several years a ministry known as “Big House Youth Outreach” was in place to help at-risk teens, but the ministers behind the program eventually moved on to a different ministry.

That’s when Ched Carpenter created “Adventure PG”.

He's taken control of the building and is looking to secure sponsors to keep this mission alive under the new name of Adventure PG.  The “PG” is for Prairie Grove, but it could also represent the parental guidance that many of the kids aren't getting at home.

The facility has a big place to hang out, and a safe place for kids to go to after school.  The ministry also features computers and a study hall, but the most important thing for the young people who come through the doors is knowing that somebody cares.

There's no telling what kind of kid will walk through here, but 250 of them a week will. A lot of them are high risk kids. It's our goal to keep them off the streets but also give them hope for the future,” said Carpenter.

Because the adventure pg group is a brand new 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the funds that used to support Big House won't transfer over immediately.

Many of the former sponsors will continue to to support the ministry, but more financial help and mentors are needed.

Carpenter says they’re also looking for additional volunteers who can work well with jr. high and high school kids.  One small step by you, could make a huge difference in the life of some kids in our area.

If you're the type of big hearted individual who likes to keep it local on the charity work, think Adventure PG.
