Soldier’s Family is Surprised with Keys to New Home

A wounded Afghanistan veteran received the surprise of a lifetime Friday night at the Rodeo of the Ozarks in Springdale.

Country music star Kix Brooks was on hand at Parsons Stadium to present the soldier with a key to a brand new house.

Sgt. Angel Martinez, his wife, Casey, and their baby girl Charlotte received a new house tonight.

Martinez served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. His unit was hit by an explosive device while in Afghanistan.

Martinez suffered head and leg injuries.

The family’s new home is located in Stockton, Calif. Walmart sponsored the home giveaway.

“I really can’t put into words how, what it means to know for Charlotte to have a home,” Martinez said.

The Martinez family says they plan to move in as soon as they can.
