Man Wanted After High Speed Chase
Van Buren police are on the lookout for a 31-year-old man who allegedly led officers on a chase that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour in Crawford County.
Officers tried to stop a vehicle driven by Justin Wallace around 12:30 a.m. Friday because the car’s license plate did not match the car’s description, according to a police report. That’s when authorities say a chase broke out at Alma Boulevard in Van Buren.
Detective Jonathan Wear with Van Buren police said the officer pursued the car into Kibler city limits at speeds up to 120 miles per hour. The chase ended due to safety reasons when the back of the car sparked along a gravel road near Arkansas Avenue, Wear said.
The vehicle is a four-door, tan mid-1990′s model car. Police say it appeared to be either a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
The car had the tag “187-RTE” but police say it may have been altered.
Wallace is also wanted out of LeFlore County for possession of methamphetamine.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call River Valley Crimestoppers at (479) 78-CRIME.
