Ball Corporation’s plant in Springdale is expanding and plans to add up to 30 jobs within the next year, according to a news release from the city’s Chamber of Commerce.

Ball Corporation, a metal food and household products packaging manufacturing plant, is planning to install a high speed production line that will produce aerosol cans that will be used for paint, health and beauty items. The news release from the chamber states the expansion is an $8.5 million local investment.

“This expansion by Ball is another example of our economy’s continued post-recession growth,” says Perry Webb, Chamber president. “Manufacturing in Springdale continues to show strong signs of growth while our employment numbers continued to climb. Ball is a long-time employer in this community and this expansion is great news for our city.”

The Springdale plant, which opened in 1949, currently produces metal food cans and ends in its 286,000 square foot facility at 1200 S. Crutcher Street.

Ball Corporation and its subsidiaries employ more than 14,500 people worldwide.
