Teen Arrested in 2011 Jewelry Store Burglary
Raymond Coat, 19, of Rogers, was arrested Tuesday on several charges stemming from a 2011 burglary at Zales Jewelry in the Promenade Mall, according to police.
Coat is facing charges of commercial burglary, theft of property, criminal mischief and obstructing governmental operation.
Police say on Aug. 10, 2011, around 2 a.m. officers responded to the Zales on a report of a commercial burglary.
Zales surveillance cameras showed a man shattering the front window of the business with a baseball bat. He then used the bat to smash several display cases and stole more $18,000 worth of jewelry, according to a police report.
Investigators found evidence at the crime scene linking Coat to the burglary. He is being held at a Benton County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
