Thousands of dollars in 4-wheelers were stolen out of an owner’s front yard. Thursday morning Miraya Sallee says someone stole three 4-wheelers and a trailer from her home on Catcher Road outside Van Buren.

“They took the chains from the trailer and wrapped it around their bumper and then took off,” said Miraya Sallee.

Sallee was home at the time with her son. She said, “I never heard anything. My dogs never barked. My son was up and he didn’t hear nothing.”

Sallee says the theft happened sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. The suspects allegedly left a line in the grass where they drug the trailer out. “It’s really devastating, really. It doesn’t make you feel safe at all,” said Sallee.

Investigators say they have had quite a few 4-wheerlers stolen all over the area. “It’s just an easy target to pick up, easy to sell,” said Sgt. Ken Howard, with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say the thefts are not limited to Crawford County. “They’re just after the money,” said Sgt. Howard.

Sallee and her family spend their spare time driving, searching for the 4-wheelers. They also plan to put up fliers. “If we get these back we’re gone be buying a shed and we’re gone lock them up,” said Sallee.

Sallee estimates the suspects got away with about $27,000 in merchandise.
