Davis Ready to Go

HOOVER, Ala. — Knile Davis has not played a game since January of 2011, in the Sugar Bowl.

He broke his ankle the following preseason camp and missed all of 2012.

Therefore, his return is possibly the biggest question for one of the most prolific offenses in the SEC. Davis was held back from contact all spring, and has yet to take a hit.

“I’m 100 percent,” he said. “I’m ready to go. I’m ready to get all the contact I can handle.”

Head coach John L. Smith said Wednesday that Davis will be “full go” come preseason camp in August. For the running back, he’s ready to get on the field and prove the doubters wrong.

“We can’t do anything about opinions,” Davis said. “All we can do is show up one gameday and try to get the ‘W.’ If we get the win, then all that goes away.”
