A Bella Vista house fire is under control, but not before the flames destroyed a garage and part of a nearby home.

Firefighters responded to a house fire near Bella Vista at about 6:40 p.m. Friday. They declared the fire contained at 7:03 p.m. There were no reported injuries, and no nearby homes were damaged. Emergency personnel carted a dog out of the residence on a stretcher with oxygen. The dog expected to recover.

Crews enlisted the help of the Gravette Fire Department to supply a tanker truck to contain the fire on Oak Hill Road. Bella Vista firefighters also called a rescue team and the Bentonville Fire Department to the house.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
