Breakdancers Take the Stage in Fayetteville

Dancers hit the floor with their best moves Saturday right next to our 5NEWS studio in Fayetteville.

Breakdancers competed in the event put on by Gymnastic Joe’s at the Northwest Arkansas Mall. Organizers said it’s a way to represent hip hop in the region.

Dancers traveled from around the country for the event. And to have moves like these, it takes a lot of practice.

“A lot of people may say, ‘They’re just spinning around on their heads or on their back,’” said event promoter Daniel Naranjo. “But it takes a lot of work and a lot of effort. We’ve got blood, sweat and tears put into this just like any other form of dance.”
