Multi-Media Producer
5NEWS has an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Media Producer.
Producers are responsible for writing and creating content for newscasts and the Web. Producers work closely with reporters, producers, directors and the assignment desk to create good looking, accurate newscasts. In this job you will help write scripts, gather story ideas and develop content for TV, our website and mobile platform.
The right person must have a passion for news. You must be a strong writer and have sharp news judgment. You will be expected to bring enthusiasm and creativity to our product. We are not looking for a show stacker. We are looking for someone who understands the important role personality and storytelling plays in the newscast.
- Producers plan content, write stories and build graphics to creative and execute all elements of a newscast.
- Producers brainstorm ideas and use a variety of tools to visually enhance newscasts.
- Producers write stories for broadcast and the Web.
- Producers take on special projects as assigned.
- Working knowledge of non-linear editing is a big plus.
A college degree is preferred. Ideally, you are already doing this job in another market.
