Fort Smith police arrested a woman on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving Monday morning after she hit a light pole causing a power outage.

Kristin McPherson, 20, has since bonded out of the Sebastian County jail. Police say she blew a .20 during a blood alcohol test with a breathalyzer. She’s expected to appear in court on the charges Wednesday.

Dispatchers with the Fort Smith Police Department say the car hit a light pole at 9800 Meandering Way just before 4 a.m. The accident left 1,546 Fort Smith residents temporarily without power.

Police say no injuries were reported in the accident.
