Cocaine Sting Lands Farmington Man In Jail
A Farmington man is in jail after a cocaine bust by the local drug task force.
Local police arrested Trenton Cooksey, 22, on Monday afternoon in connection with four occurrences of illegal delivery of cocaine, according to a police report.
Detectives conducted four controlled buys with Cooksey while using audio and video surveillance equipment before a confidential informant identified Cooksey as the man selling the cocaine, the report said.
While searching Cooksey’s home, police found five grams of cocaine, as well as hundreds of empty plastic baggies, two digital scales, and several text messages and pictures showing the selling of drugs, according to the police report.
Cooksey remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday on $3,500 bond.
The investigation was carried out by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force, a collection of law enforcement officers from several area police departments.
