Authorities have released the name of a man whose body was found in a church parking lot earlier this week.
The man is Michael Wayne Shell, 45, of Stilwell, Okla., according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
His body was found at Pleasant Valley Holiness Church in Adair County on Tuesday afternoon. He had suffered a head wound.
The pastor found the body after arriving at the church at South County Road 6920 and Highway 100.
With an identification confirmed, OSBI agents are now running multiple leads.The medical examiner’s office has yet to determine the cause of death. Trauma to the head points to murder, according to a news release.
