Moms Need Back-To-School Supplies Too
The ladies of Peekaboo Media Group bring a new segment to KXNW-TV 34, called REAL Northwest Arkansas.
We’re just weeks away from back-to-school. With tax-free weekend behind us, and the retail giants stocked to the brim with the back-to-school best, there’s no shortage on goodies for the kiddos. This week, the ladies tell us that moms need supplies too! Whether it be a good planner or just a good DIY energy smoothie, they’re in need of that new tennis shoe feeling, also.
Lela Davidson, the group’s director of content and new media said she’s personally very excited to get back on a routine.
“That means eating better and exercising on a regular schedule,” Davidson said.
Lela’s Mommy Must-Have: Green Energy Smoothie
- 1 ½ – 2 cups very cold, filtered water
- 6 cups spinach, chopped
- 5 cups organic romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 organic apple, cored and chopped
- 1 organic pear, cored and chopped
- 1 organic banana
- 1–2 Tbs. fresh organic lemon juice
- Ice cubes (the extra coldness can help newbies with the taste
- 1/2 cup of organic cilantro (OPTIONAL)
- RECIPE MAKES 64 OZ. or 2-4 SERVINGS
“It gives me tons of energy!” Davidson said. And the ladies agree, “she does have energy,” they say.
Peekaboo Magazine creator, Kim Enderlee said it’s more about the accessories, Sunglasses to hide behind in the carpool line (she kids!) and books on CD for all the driving around. But perhaps the most important of all accessories is the planner. Enderlee said all moms must keep organized.
“Last year we missed wacky hat day. If you have a kid in elementary school, and every single kid has a wacky hat, and yours doesn’t… Just remember to write EVERYTHING down,” Enderlee said.
Kim’s Mommy Must-Have: a good planner
Loria Oliver, the group’s public relation’s specialist has a toddler, and another little one on the way. She spends her time working.
The ladies of Peekaboo Media Group (Lela, Kim & Loria) and Peekaboo Magazine are teaming up with TCBY in Rogers for their 2nd annual back-to-school fundraiser. For every school supply brought, you will receive 3 ounces of frozen yogurt free.
It will be held from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, August 12 at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers.
“It’s our back-to-school issue, and it’s great because we cover diabetes, and food allergies that teachers and classmates don’t otherwise think about, plus how to approach the school nurse about issues,” Enderlee said.
Pick up a copy at area Chick-fil-A restaurants, Northwest Arkansas libraries and the 5NEWS studio at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
You can catch the ladies of Peekaboo media group, Kim Enderlee, Lela Davidson and Loria W. Oliver every Monday morning on KXNW-TV 34 in their new segment REAL Northwest Arkansas, or on their website.
