A Fayetteville construction worker was rushed to Washington Regional Medical Center on Wednesday morning after a workplace accident.

The city employee was cutting a concrete form with other workers, when the saw hit a screw and lodged the screw in the employee’s forehead, according to Central Emergency Management Services.

The worker was transported to the hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening, said Steve Harrison, Central EMS assistant chief.

Harrison said work resumed after the worker was taken to the hospital. The city is improving sidewalks near downtown and North College Avenue.

The city is not releasing the worker’s name at this time.
