Hidden Camera Found in Gap Dressing Room
Mission Viejo, CA (KTLA) — Authorities are investigating a camera hidden in the dressing room of a Gap store inside the Shops at Mission Viejo.
A female employee found the camera — which was about the size of a thumb drive — inside a picture frame on Saturday.
The woman then called sheriff’s deputies, and the camera was sent to a lab for analysis.
Investigators with the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force have taken the camera and are searching for its owner.
“Hopefully, we can find who it belongs to,” Amormino said. “We don’t know how long it has been there.”
Authorities say it could be difficult to pinpoint a suspect given the easily concealed nature of the camera.
Gap released the following statement: “We at Gap Inc. were concerned by the discovery in our Mission Viejo Gap store and immediately notified law enforcement… We conduct privacy assurance audits of our stores, and have intensified these audits in the surrounding stores. We believe this to be an unfortunate and isoalted incident.”
