A man is arrested in Springdale on aggravated assault charges after a late night stabbing.  Police say 37-year-old Henrique Eleuterio was stabbed in the hand while walking in a parking lot at 707 Kay Sue Ave. around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say they later located and arrested the suspect, 31-year-old Carlos Alvarez at a house on North Lowell Road.

Eleuterio told police he ran away from Alvarez after he chased him following the stabbing, according to a release from Springdale Police. Eleuterio also told police he did not know why Alvarez stabbed him in the hand. Police are still investigating to determine the suspect’s motive behind the stabbing.
