It’s said to be one of the ten oldest restaurants in the county, and it’s coming back.

Mary Maestri’s is reopening in a new Springdale location. Mary Maestri’s Italiano Grillroom with Aldo’s Wine and Coffee Bar is scheduled to open August 30.

The Tontitown restaurant closed in 2010. The matter is in litigation.

But since then Daniel Maestri says his customers have missed the food, the atmosphere, and their family traditions.

“I’ve heard comments like, ‘That’s the best news I’ve ever heard,’” Maestri said. “A lot of people are thrilled, they miss it.”

For those who have been craving the spaghetti, lasagna, and fettuccine—it won’t be long before it’s served up again.

“All the pastas will be homemade, all the desserts, all the breads; just like before,” he said.

The new location is off Highway 412 East in Springdale, near Powell. It may not be in Tontitown where it all started back 1923—with Mary Maestri serving hungry customers from her home—but it’s a location chosen because of the family’s roots.

“I have roots in Springdale,” Maestri said. “We all went to school in Springdale, my mom was the 1st Postmistress, my dad was the manager of the Chamber of Commerce. We all grew up here.”

And if you’re wondering about the menu, Maestri said, “We’ll have most of all the products we’ve had before and also have new products.”

New features include lunch, which is new from the Tontitown location. Maestri says you can expect pastas, soups, and sandwiches.

Maestri looks on with pride as the business gets ready to open which he credits to friends, family, and prayer. For him, it’s not just about reopening a business, but about family—his family, serving your family.

“There are a lot of people who have family memories, weddings, birthdays-it’s goes on and on, back for four generations,” he said.

It may be a new building, but Maestri says it’s just like the old days.

“A building is just a building-it’s the people inside themselves that’s where the memories are and their traditions,” he said.

Mary Maesti’s is located 669 East Robinson Avenue in Springdale. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Dinner is served Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. through 9:30 p.m and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.

Aldo’s Wine and Coffee Bar is open on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday 5:30 p.m. to close.
