A runaway teen from Bates was found safe, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Jasper Anderson, 15, was missing since Monday, her aunt said. Deputies have not released any details about how they found her.

The family believed she was with a 20-year-old man who she used to date, but deputies interviewed him and he denied being involved, Sgt. DJ Pyle said.

Authorities began looking for a second man thought to be with Anderson.

Both men are from this area. One of them has been convicted of domestic battery, according to Sgt. Pyle. The sheriff’s office has yet to release the names of the men.

Anderson left a note implying she was going to Hot Springs with a friend to look for work, according to Sgt. Pyle. The note also stated she didn’t want anyone to try to contact her.
