Dozens of tires were slashed at vehicles parked in an Ozark neighborhood near N. 2nd and 3rd Streets early Wednesday, according to police. Now they are looking for those responsible for hundreds of dollars in damage.

Terry’s Tire in Ozark spent much of the morning replacing tires Thursday.

“Oh, I don't like it,” said Donald McChristian, a victim. “I don't like it worth a flip. It's gone cost me probably $300-$350 to get me two new tires.”

McChristian said someone slashed his front and back driver side tires overnight.

“First thing I thought of I thought, ‘Oh man, who have I made mad,’” he said.

Ozark Police confirmed at least 28 cases of tires being slashed.

"Fifteen years ago you could leave your keys in your truck unlocked, so you don't dare do that anymore,” said Don Simpson, another victim. “I never expected to wake up to something like this."

Simpson bought new tires a month ago. Now it’ll cost him $600 to replace two that were slashed, Simpson said.

"They better hope the police catch them first,” Simpson said.

Investigators say they have suspects, but no arrests have been made.

"When I saw all those other ones I thought well it's probably just some young kids having fun,"  McChristian said. "All I ask if the parents, you know, if they can I wish they'd come and buy me two new tires."

Those behind the vandalism will face criminal mischief charges, according to Ozark Police. Most of the victims live within walking distance of each other.
