Fayetteville Police Find Stolen Gun, Meth During Traffic Stop

A Springdale man is in jail after police say they found drugs and a stolen gun in his car.

Brett Taylor Maddox, 24, was arrested early Wednesday morning shortly after midnight in connection with possession of methamphetamine, theft of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm. All are felonies.

Maddox remains in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Police stopped Maddox’s car in Fayetteville after he crossed over the street’s center line. During the stop, officers found eight grams of marijuana and seven grams of methamphetamine on Maddox. They also found a Glock handgun under his seat that had been reported stolen.

Maddox was placed under arrest at the scene.
