A Gore, Okla., man was killed during a motorcycle accident on US Hwy 64 just west of Sallisaw in Sequoyah County Tuesday evening.

Samuel Miller, 45, was rushed to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith with head, leg, arm and internal injuries, after his Harley Davidson was rear-ended by a Ford Expedition driven by Brent Carter, 27, of Vian, according to an accident report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The impact forced Miller’s motorcycle to crash into the back of a Buick drive by Lisa Lewis, 41, of Sallisaw, which had stopped to make a left-hand turn, according to the report.

Miller was pronounced dead at the hospital later that night. He was not wearing a helmet, the report states.

Lewis, as well as her passenger, were treated for injuries at a Sallisaw hospital and later released.

Carter was not injured, according to the report.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident.
