Springdale Man Accused Of Raping A Minor

Police arrested a Springdale man Tuesday in connection with the rape and sexual assault of a minor.

John Wayne Richie, 32, faces charges of rape and second-degree sexual assault with a 9-year-old girl over the last year-and-a-half, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Richie is being held in the Benton County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to an arrest affidavit filed Thursday in Benton County Circuit Court.

He faces an Oct. 8 hearing in Circuit Court, the affidavit states.
