Fayetteville Drops Season Opener at Razorback Stadium
Fayetteville High School began its State Championship defense with a loss Thursday night in Razorback Stadium. The Bulldogs fell to Memphis University School 42-20, a team that has won four of the last eight State Championships in Tennessee.
Fayetteville got on the board first forcing a Memphis fumble inside their own endzone and recovering to make it 7-0. Memphis then scored the next two touchdowns to take a 14-7 lead.
Fayetteville then answered in the second quarter with a Braydon Cook 20 yard touchdown run. But after that it was all Memphis University. They took a 28-20 lead in the fourth quarter and Fayetteville never got any closer.
