A 29-year-old man is charged with voyeurism after he allegedly looked into a young girl’s bedroom window and watched her change clothes.

Van Buren Police arrested Mukhtar Ali Abdul-Khaliq on Aug. 30.

Abdul-Khaliq was booked into the Crawford County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

On Aug. 30, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of North 28th Street in reference to suspicious activity, according to a police report. The victim’s mother told police around 6 a.m. a tall dark skinned black male was caught looking through her 13-year-old daughter’s window.

The man watched the girl get dressed and asked if he could come inside the house, police said. The little girl told her mother, who went outside and confronted the man. She said he ran off toward the Summer Chase Apartments, according to a police report.

With the suspect’s description police were able to identify Abdul-Khaliq and arrested him at his residence without incidence.
