Arkansas Razorback Football Team and Staff Head shots 2011

The family of the Razorbacks football player who died mid-season last year will be recognized at Arkansas’ game against University of Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

Garrett Uekman, a redshirt freshman tight end, died Nov. 20 of cardiac arrest, less than a week before the third-ranked Razorbacks took on top-ranked Louisiana State University.

University of Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long will present Uekman’s parents and sister with a framed jersey bearing the former player’s Number 88, according to a university press release.

Arkansas students at the game will be given T-shirts with Uekman’s number on the back, the release states.

The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
