Former Hog, Pointer Passed Away

Jackie Brasuell, a 2007 Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor Inductee, passed away in Conway earlier this week.

Brasuell played for the Hogs from 1963-65 and was twice selected to the All-Southwest Conference team in both 1964 and 1965. He also received the Chism Reed Outstanding Senior Leadership Award in 1965.

Brasuell rushed for 795 yards in his career with the Razorbacks with five touchdowns while adding 271 yards and two more scores receiving. He also had 72 tackles and a pair of interceptions during his playing days in Fayetteville.

He was a high school teacher and coach at Van Buren during following his playing days at Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held Monday at Roller-McNutt in Conway at 1 p.m.
