Electric companies are still working to restore outages in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas after Friday night storms.

Most of the outages Saturday afternoon were on the south side of Fort Smith where residents say they’ve been without electricity since 7:30 p.m. Friday — or about 20 hours.

OG&E had reduced the outages to fewer than 50 in Fort Smith by Saturday night, while other electric providers reported a handful of outages in Northwest Arkansas, primarily in Benton County.

Strong storms Friday downed trees across power lines and caused other damage.
