Medical Marijuana to Lead Discussion at Fort Smith Event

Medical marijuana will take focus at a special forum in Fort Smith Monday.

The proposal to legalize medical marijuana in Arkansas will be discussed by the League of Women Voters September 10 at an event scheduled to be held at noon at the Golden Corral on Waldron Avenue.

A panel discussion on the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act will be discussed byDirector for Arkansans for Compassionate Care Ryan Denham, Sebastian County Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck, and Mona Clemons, a representative the River Valley Drug Free Coalition.

Supporters and opponents will discuss the economic and social impacts of the proposal.

Arkansas voters will decide whether or not to make the use of medical marijuana legal on Nov. 6.
