Rape, Death At Nursing Home Under Investigation
A rape reported at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center is under investigation, according to the city’s police chief.
A body associated with the case was sent to the state medical examiner, although police would not say whether the body was the alleged rape victim.
Nursing home officials were made aware of an alleged rape incident at the facility last week, according to Brandon Farmer, a spokesperson for the center. An internal investigation found no evidence of rape, Farmer said. He also said they are not aware of any other agencies finding evidence of rape.
However, when contacted about the alleged rape incident, Paris Police Chief John O’Brien said “I will say this, there has been some concerns, we are looking into it. The body was sent to the medical examiner.”
Chief O’Brien would not comment on the body’s identity or how the person died.
Farmer would not say if the incident involved a resident of the nursing home or if anyone was seriously injured because of health privacy laws.
